Love Books? Love Social Justice? Love the People?
This is your bookstore. With deference and love to LEMs bookstore in Columbia City, we want to build a community space for people to build, learn, and enjoy from each other and with each other.
Estelita’s Library will be a curated community bookstore and Library with books focused on social justice, ethnic studies, and liberation movements.
The goal of Estelita’s Library is to have community book talks, classes, meetings, history lessons, and much more to strengthen and develop our collective analysis for justice.
Our model is to move away from ownership of books and a community library model. Estelita’s Library is open to everyone and will have a membership model to borrow books. Yearly Memberships will be available on a sliding scale ($30-$50 per year, but no one will be denied membership due to lack of funds) which will also grant discounts to food and events.
(During the Grand Opening and during regular business hours) Estelita’s Library will be serving food, beer & wine, and will have the back patio open.
Join us to open this community space!
Much love.
