How we work

We are a community library and online bookstore with books focused on social justice, ethnic studies, and liberation movements. We invite everyone to use our library space as a community center; come cozy up with a book, learn about social justice, and connect with likeminded people. The space and books at our library are free to everyone and anyone (just call). Also, please join our Heylo Group where we will plan / share / post & commune about events and happenings.

Community - We are live! After a lot of time and making sure we get everything right, we're thrilled to share our fantastic Community Car Share program, in partnership with ZEV Co-op (@zev.coop). You might have seen the beautiful van with amazing art by T-Dubs (@tdubcustoms) parked in front of our library on MLK Ave. After getting the community familiar and excited about it, we're now ready to go live for everyone. 📚 We love seeing our #community come together! After an incredible event with @kennedyprints Amos Kennedy printing social justice posters, let’s keep the energy alive! The whole clip! We are so grateful to have @kennedyprints host a beautiful event and bringing the radical tool of the printing press to our community. He shared some of his amazing, conscious raising prints and showed the youth how to use the printing press. Join us #Sunday for a #free hands-on letterpress art making & poster sale! 📚 We’re looking for enthusiastic #volunteers to help organize our collection of books.
